Target
Use strategies to devolp formulas for finding the circumfrance of circles.
Example
If the diameter of a circle is 4 inches, you multiply 4*pi (pi is 3.14), which equals 12.56. Therefore, the circumfrance of the circle is 12.56 inches.
Lesson
To find the circumfrance of a circle, you measure it's diameter. Then you multiply it's diameter by 3.14 (pi).

Today's Target
Estimating Sums and differences using decimals
Example:
2.14+7.92
2+8=10
Lesson
When finding sums with decimals, you round to the nearest whole number. You look at the tenths column, and if the number is 1-4 you round the number to what it is. If it is 5-9, you round the whole number to the number one higher than it. Then you add the 2 or more numbers in the equation together.
When finding sums with decimals, you do the same thing except you subtract the 2 or more numbers in the equation.
