scribe post#4 Teselations
Lesson
Today we woked on teselations and got to make some. We also learne a little about transformational symetry, rotational symetry, and reflectional symetry we also got to see a little of how M.C. Escher makes his teselations. Mr. Tubbs gave us pattern blocks and gave us a shape and we had to tesselate it.
Example
If you look below at the second picture we had to use the middle shape and tesselate it.

Learning Target
The learning target today was rounding fractions and mixed numbers to the nearest half.
Lesson
1. Look at the numerator and if it is a lot under half of the denominator than round down to zero.
Ex. 8/27=0
2. If the numerator is below half, but is still pretty close to half round up to half.
Ex.12/27=1/2
3. If the numerator is above half of the denominator, but is still pretty close to half round down to half.
Ex. 19/27=1/2
4. If the numerator is above half of the denominator, but is closer to the number that is the denominator than round up to 1.
Ex. 20/27=1
5. You do not always round to 1,0,or 1,2. You round to the whole number that is the denominator.
Ex. 20/27=27
