12+x=20 to do this is that your subtract 12 to make it zero then you subtract 12 from 20 because what ever you do to the 12 you do it to the other number so it is 8. YOU end up with x=8 When you have only one number left you have the answer.

30+x=33

30-30 then 33-30 = 3

21+x=28

21-21 then 28-21=7

x+100=280

100-100 then 280-100=180

Learning Target: Subtracting Mixed Numbers with Renaming

Leason:You take away one whole, and make your whole number  1  less, then you add your your whole and your fractoin then you subtract the number you got when you add with the fraction below.

Example:         3  4/9  +9/9= 13/9                               

                    - 2  - 5/9         

                              = 8/9

99.99+99.98=? round 100+100=200

If the decmals are over 5 you round up.

If the decmals are under 5 you have to round down.
