vertex- the shapes in any tessellation that fit together nicely around one point.
The vertex is the dark blue dot in the center where all of the points meet.
To tessellate the sum of the interior angles must be 360 degrees.
In the picture above the angle measures equal 360 because 120+120+120=360.
Example
The angle measures in this tessellation are all 90 degrees. So, you should add 90+90+90+90 to get an angle sum of 360.

History of Valentine's Day
Many special things happen in February, like Black History Month, Friendship Month, Groundhog Day, and The Winter Olympics begin. One really special holiday in February is Valentine's Day. It is on February 14th. The definition of Valentine's Day is, observed in honor of St. Valentine as a day for the exchange of valentines and other tokens of affection.
There are many different legends about the history of Valentine's Day. Here is one legend...
The first legend began in Rome, when the Emperor, Claudius the Second, was involved in many bloody and unpopular campaigns. The Emperor was having a hard time getting soldiers to join his military leagues. He thought the reason was the Roman men didn't want to leave their family or loved ones. So, the Emperor decided to cancel all engagements and marriages.
Saint Valentine, a priest in Rome, in the year of 269 A.D., together with Saint Marius, didn't listen to Claudius. They continued to marry people secretly. When Claudius found out about the marriages, he threatened to beat them to death with clubs and chop off their heads.
When Valentine was in prison, people say that he fell in love with a young girl, who may have been the jailor's daughter. She visited him durring his time. Before Valentine's death on February 14, he wrote her a letter signed "From Your Valentine"
In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius said that February 14 was for St. Valentine, and named the 14th- Valentine's Day.
Valentine's Day is a day for loving and caring for your family and friends. Many families like to play games and have fun. Families also give each other flowers, mostly roses, and cards.

Use prime factorization of composite numbers to find the least comon multiple (LCM)

First you list the 2. Then you list two fives because it appears twice in both factor trees. The LCM is the product of 2*5*5 or 50.
Lesson
First, find the prime factors of two numbers by making a factor tree. Then you see what factors are the same for each number. If no factors are the same you multiply all of the factors together to get the LCM. If there are prime factors the same for both numbers, you must list the factors that are the same. Then, multiply the factors together to get the LCM. You only need to list the common factor once unless it appears more than once in the factor tree of one number. Then you list it the greatest number of times it appears in one tree.

Use strategies to develop formulas for finding the circumference of circles.
Example
264.2 x π = c c=circumference π=pi

Lesson
On Friday, we learned how to measure circumference and diameter. We took a string and circular object, and we wrapped the string around it to find the circumference. Then you measure where the string finished wrapping around and measured the centimeters. To find the diameter we took the string, and on the bottom we measured in the middle from end to end. Then we measured where the string ended in centimeters.

Lesson
When you round with decimals you should round to the nearest whole number. If the number in the tenths place is 5 or higher you
round up. If the number in the tenths place is 4 or lower you will keep the number the same but without the decimal. Then you add
or subtract the two numbers.
