LEARNING TARGET: comparing and ordering fractions
LESSON: Step 1. find the least Common multiple of each denomonator. This is called the least common denomonator or LCD.
Step 2. rewrite each fraction as an equivalant fraction using LCD. this is what my notes say.
EXAMPLE: say you are finding out if 7/13 is bigger or smaller than 9/21. First you find the least common multiple of both the denomonators. The awnser is 273. i multiplied both the denomonators by 13 to get 273. now i multiply the numourators, 7 and 9, by 13 also. 7 turns out to be 114 and 9 turns out to be 117. now that I have the same denomonator, i just look at the numourator and withever one is bigger is th elargest fraction.
