Learning Target: Learn how to subtract mixed numbers.
Lesson
To subtract mixed numbers, subtract the fractions first, then the whole numbers. If the bottom fraction is more than the top fraction (if there is one), you borrow a whole number like in regular subtraction. Then you subtract. If there are unlike denominators, then you must find the LCD.
Example:
7 1/2= 2/4 (LCD - 2:2,4... )
- 6 3/4= 3/4 ( LCD - 4:4... )

then it becomes
6 6/4
- 6 3/4

3/4
