Learning Target: Learn how to subtract mixed numbers.

Lesson

To subtract mixed numbers, subtract the fractions first, then the whole numbers.  If the bottom fraction is more than the top fraction (if there is one), you borrow a whole number like in regular subtraction.  Then you subtract. If there are unlike denominators, then you must find the LCD.

Example:

          7 1/2=  2/4        (LCD  - 2:2,4... )

     -    6 3/4= 3/4         (  LCD - 4:4... )

_______________

 then it becomes

          6  6/4

    -     6  3/4

You've done a very good job explaining how to subtract mixed numbers with borrowing. Your example was good. You forgot to add an image or link.
