4/16-Solving Simple Eguatons
Lesson: Balance is the key to solving equations.
y + 12 = -27 "The goal is to get the variable by itself."
To do that you must subtact 12 from each number.(Not including the varilable) You end up with a problem looking like this: y = 39. I got that by subracting 12 from each number. Then after you do that you bring the y down and the = sign and the other number and you get the answer y=39. I'll show you.
1. y + 12 = -27
2. 12-12=0
3.-27-12=39
you end up with this:y=39 that is the answer.
Hears a nother.
1. x + 6 =24
2. 6-6=0
3. 24-6=18
you end up with this: x=18

toddc,
whites is correct, you do need a link and a photo. Your explanation is a good one though. I also like how you broke down the steps to make it easier to understand.
